My latest work 'I am' is finished. It has gone through a series of developments taking bereavement as a central theme, it started out as Mourning Into Dancing - which I will go back to at some point. 'I am' has grown into a more specifically Christ centred image; still with bereavement as it's core. The clouded mistiness of the moment of death is transformed by a new reality held and coloured by something greater than our loss.
'I am' finished
'I am' will be shown as part of an exhibition in Cheltenham and Gloucester in the next couple of weeks. I'm off today to start hanging alongside five other artists that make up 'Inside Out Gloucester'. It will be seen alongside 'Storm' and my other new piece 'Wing'.

I see so much in this painting Phil. The pain of suffering being held by Christ. His willingness to take our pain on and to suffer for us. The way you have represented the crown of thorns is very thought provoking. Thankyou for sharing this challenging painting
I know that life has not been easy for you, but do not give up just yet. I mean, if you can imagine it, then it can be true. As long as you do not give up, then believe me, you can do all sorts of things in life. I am of the belief that people just need to work hard. As long as we are able to get back from our failures, then we will be good, believe me.

Sarah, thank you so much for your kind comments. I'm so pleased you've seen in the work something of what I was trying to express.
